Malé, Maldives – Malé City Council on Thursday announced that the council will be issuing stickers for vehicles exempted from the vehicle-free window on the occasion of Eid.

Malé City Council has imposed a vehicle-free window on 7 and 8 July 2022, from 16:00 to 20:00.

City Council will be issuing permit stickers from 14:00 to 18:00 and from 20:00 to 22:00 in the capital city on both days.

The vehicle ban which does not extend to the other districts of Malé including Hulhumalé and Vilimalé is scheduled from 16:00 to 20:00. This is to allow the residents to go out and celebrate Eid without vehicles and traffic in the congested capital city.

While most vehicles are banned, ambulances and emergency vehicles are permitted during the vehicle-free window.

Vehicle-free windows have been implemented in Malé City on Eid and other such festivities in recent years.
