Malé, Maldives – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Ahmed Thasmeen Ali as the High Commissioner of Maldives to the Republic of Singapore.

The President presented Thasmeen with his letter of credence at a ceremony held at the President’s Office earlier today.

Parliament had given its approval to appoint Thasmeen Ali on June 30, 2022.

Earlier, he served as the Minister of Atolls Administration, Minister of Home Affairs, and as a Member of Parliament and the Deputy Speaker of Parliament. Thasmeen Ali completed his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
