Addu City, Maldives – The man injured in a road side accident involving himself and a crane-pickup is in critical condition, and will be airlifted to Malé.
Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH), where the patient is currently admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), revealed that the patient has sustained head trauma including skull fractures as well as lung contusions and multiple fractures of the limbs and pelvis.
AEH being a tertiary hospital with limited medical facilities than the capital Malé, the patient will be transported to Malé for further treatment.
While the exact cause of the accident is unknown, the accident took place in very close proximity to Addu Equatorial Hospital.
Police are currently investigating the accident.
