Malé, Maldives – Maldives Customs Service has revealed that they have seized drugs worth over MVR 12 million.
According to a statement released by Customs the drugs were found from the luggage of a 48-year old Pakistani male who was trying to smuggle the narcotics by air.
Preliminary testing of the drugs proved the substances to be heroin with a total weight of 10.002 kilograms. The drugs are expected to have a market value of MVR 12 million according to Customs.
The drugs have now been handed over to Maldives Police Service, which is currently investigating the case.
