Malé, Maldives – Maldives Meteorological Center (MET) has issued a white alert to the southern atolls of Maldives, forecasting heavy rain fall in the area.
According to weather reports, the white alert is effective from 04:30 to 10:30 in the morning, between Gaafu Alifu Atoll and Addu City. During this period, heavy rain accompanied with thunder and strong winds going upto as high as 40 miles per hour can be expected.
In light of this, authorities urge all sea travellers to exercise caution when out at sea, and to ensure all safety measures are in place.
