France comes from behind to beat Aussies comfortably

France comes from a deficit goal to beat Australia 4-1 in group D of FIFA World Cup 2022.

The first match of the group ended in a goalless draw between Tunisia and Denmark earlier yesterday. Which gave both France and Australia a chance to top the group early in the stages.

Australia took a shock lead from a French defensive error in the 9th minute of the game. Goal scored by Craig Goodwin. France team didn’t take long to respond. With Kylian Mbappe constantly threatening the opposition box, Adrien Rabiot leveled the game in the 27th minute. Five minutes lated, Rabiot sent a short pass to the Australian box, Olivier Giroud easily converted which gave them the lead before half time.

Giroud and Mbappe scored another two goals to give them the comfortable win they deserved in the second half. Giroud’s brace in last night game makes him equal to the French all time leading goal scorer with 51 goals. Record was previously held by Thierry Henry.
