Malé, Maldives – Maldives National Party (MNP) has confirmed its presidential ticket to MP for Dhangethi Constituency, former Defense Minister Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim.
The deadline for submitting nominations for the MNP presidential primary expired at 2 pm today. Nazim was the only candidate to contest the primary when the deadline expired.
MNP has been working on its manifesto for the presidential election and increasing its membership.
MNP is the latest registered party in Maldives. Maldives National Party (MNP) officially declared themselves an opposition party last month.
MNP’s national executive council’s first meeting held last month decided that the MNP will work as an opposition party to hold the government accountable from now onward.
