Malé, Maldives – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Kinbidhoo MP Mohamed Nashiz as his campaign manager for Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) primary to determine the candidate for the upcoming presidential election.
The MDP presidential primary is scheduled to be held next month. It is learned that the President’s preparations for the campaign has already started. As such, a campaign manager has been appointed and a campaign office has been set up.
However, Nashiz’s appointment as campaign manager has not yet been officially announced.
The President has decided to contest a second term on behalf of the MDP after winning the party’s primary. However, the MDP has not yet announced a date for the primary. It is learned that the MDP is working to hold the primary next month.
Rumors have it that the primary will also be contested by MDP President Mohammed Nasheed.
