Addu City, Maldives – National Planning and Infrastructure Minister Mohammed Aslam has officially started working in Addu City.
Minister Aslam arrived in Addu City yesterday following public criticism over the road construction project and other projects under the Ministry.
Aslam had earlier told the parliament that he will be based in Addu City to resolve these issues and work in from Addu for a while.
While Minister Aslam has officially started the work, he has met with the Addu City Council regarding the projects being carried out in the city. In addition, he is visiting different areas to see how the projects are progressing. The Minister inspected the ongoing projects in Hithadhoo today.
How long the minister will work in Addu has not been announced. In addition to the road construction project, the land reclamation project is also underway. Addu is currently undergoing more than MVR 5 billion worth of projects according to the government.
As part of the minister’s work, the government has said that it will find a quick solution to the problems encountered in the projects.
