The Election Commission (EC) has accepted the candidacy of The Democrats’ presidential candidate Ilyas Labeeb.
Democrats spokesman and Malé City Councilor Mohammed Saif Fathih said the documents requested by the Election Commission had been submitted early yesterday.
EC Vice-President Ismail Habeeb tweeted today that Ilyas’ candidacy has been accepted after completing his documents.
The deadline for contesting the presidential election expires at 2:00 pm today.
The EC has also accepted the candidacies of MDP presidential candidate President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih and MNP candidate Mohammed Nazim.
