Maldivian authorities have revealed that test results of two Italian nationals who were quarantined in the country have come back positive for Covid-19 after they left the country.
Spokesperson for the national Covid-19 task force revealed that the results came back positive while the couple’s flight was mid-air to Italy. He also mentioned that the tourists came to the Maldives on the Island Safari and left on a special flight organized by the Italian government, but only getting the all clear upon completing 14 days of quarantine without presenting any symptoms.
While this has risen the number of total recorded cases of Covid-19 in the Maldives to 16, including a local who came in from UK, 9 patients have also recovered..m
