All 100 surveillance samples taken from Fuvahmulah have tested negative for Covid-19. As a precaution the samples were taken randomly.
Fuvahmulah Hospital informed that the samples of 27 foreigners and 73 Maldivians were taken on march 26th and 27th. The samples were taken from:
- Shop keepers and employees
- Retail food delivery employees
- Front line workers
- Hospital employees
- Foreigners that are living in the island
- Residents above the age of 55
- Drug addicts
As the 100 samples taken from Fuvahmulah were tested negative for covid 19, the hospital thanked the residents for their cooperation during the situation.
The total numbers of Covid-19 in the Maldives are at 1829 total cases, with 488 recoveries. 7 patients have passed away in the country due to the virus so far.
