Covid-19: Positive cases rise above 1,900

Male’ Maldives – HPA confirmed that as of 6:00 pm today additional 18 cases of Covid-19 infections have been found in Maldives.

HPA disclosed that, among these 18 people are 13 Maldivian nationals, 3 Bangladeshi nationals and 1 of each Sri Lankan and Nepali nationals.

With the 18 cases confirmed today, the total number of cases for Covid-19 in Maldives has now risen to 1,901 cases. However, there are 1,128 active cases at present.

While 763 cases have recovered from the virus in Maldives, 8 have passed away up to date. Among the deceased are 4 Maldivians and 4 foreigners. Currently, 16 people are receiving care from the hospitals for Covid-19 in Maldives.

The majority of those who have recovered are of Maldivian Nationality.

While 1,201 people are in isolation facilities, 1,443 are in quarantine facilities.
