Covid-19: Additional 23 confirmed cases and 64 recoveries.

Malé, Maldives — HPA has confirmed additional 23 Covid-19 cases and 64 recoveries in Maldives over the past 24 hours. 

HPA disclosed that, between 6pm of July 5 and 6pm of July 6, additional 23 cases were confirmed for the virus in Maldives. They are:

  • 16 Maldivian nationals
  • 07 Bangladeshi nationals

Along with these 23 confirmed cases, Maldives now has a total of 2,491 confirmed Covid-19 cases. However, currently among these cases, there are only 361 active cases in Maldives.

While 23 people tested positive for the virus today, 64 made complete recoveries from the virus over the past 24 hours. Along with these 64 recoveries, a total of 2,113 people have completely recovered from the virus in Maldives. The recovery rate of Maldives is now at 84%.

Up to date, 12 have passed away from Covid-19 in Maldives. The deceased are 7 elderly Maldivian nationals, 4 Bangladeshi nationals and a Filipino national.

The latest death was recorded in the early morning of June 6 approximately 04:35 am. It was of an 80 year old Maldivian male who passed away while receiving critical care for the virus at the DH11 facility of Dharumavantha Hospital.

While currently there are 280 people held in Isolation facilities, 107 are in quarantine facilities at present.
