Male’, Maldives – A foreigner who passed away in the Maldives has tested positive for Covid-19.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed than a Bangladeshi national, 29 years of age was brought to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital, but was pronounced dead upon arrival. It was also announced that the individual tested positive for Covid-19 upon further testing.
However, HPA stated that the death will not be declared as a Covid-19 death as the individual is not said to have displayed any symptoms of Covid-19.
On Thursday, a 71 year old Maldivian female Passed away due to Covid-19, raising the death toll due to Covid-19 in the Maldives to 16.
