Male’, Maldives – Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has announced that Maldives will receive 10,000 additional test kits for Covid-19 within the upcoming week.
Speaking in a press conference held by HEOC on Wednesday night, Spokesperson of HEOC, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq revealed that the country has only 15,000 test kits at present and that more test kits are expected to arrive in the upcoming week.
“The kits which we have now can be used for about two weeks. We’re expecting to receive 10,000 kits next week, so hopefully testing can go on continuously.”
So far, more than 99,000 samples have been taken across the country, to test for Covid-19. These samples can now be tested in facilities based in Addu, Male, Thinadhoo, Kulhudhuffushi and even in Ungoofaaru.
