Male’, Maldives – The annual national Quran competition scheduled for the year 2020, has been cancelled.
The National Center for Quran revealed that the competition has been cancelled for this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, which is yet to be controlled in the country.
The national Quran competition has been held every year, with participants from all across the country. With the cancellation of the competition for this year, it has not been announced whether the competition will be held when the Covid-19 situation in the country subsides or not.
Maldives currently has recorded more than 8,000 cases of the coronavirus, with active cases all across the country.
