Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) with the assistance of Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), has completed the first maxillofacial surgery performed at the hospital, successfully.
AEH revealed that the surgery was performed on the 23rd of September, on a 33 year old female over the course of five hours. The lead surgeon on this operation was the first maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Fathuhullah Saeed, along with the assistance of specialists of the dental department of AEH, Dr. Imad Mustafa, Dr. Saha as well as IGMH nurse.
The patient is reportedly doing well and recovering, according to AEH.
AEH has been performing several new surgeries at the hospital as of recent time, including a neurosurgery performed with the assistance of ADK as well as a hip replacement surgery.
The hospital also revealed that preparations are on going for the hospital to perform joint replacement surgeries in the future.
