Gdh. Thinadhoo, Maldives – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has started the construction of a 22 bed medical facility specialized in Covid-19 in Gdh. Thinadhoo.
The company revealed that the work began on the facility on 25th of September and that it is expected to finish by the 14th of October.
The establishment of this facility was authorized by the government after a Covid-19 patient of Thinadhoo was refused access to the medical facility established in GA. Villingili, by the people of the island. The issue even saw several members of the Parliament to call upon the government to change the facility to Thinadhoo entirely.
The Villingili medical facility is equipped with 23 ICU beds, with ventilators as well. This facility is dedicated as the Gaafu Dhaalu zone management facility.
So far, the government has established five Covid-19 management facilities across the country.
