“Don’t be careless, numbers may increase again” – Vice President

Male’, Maldives – Vice President of Maldives, Faisal Naseem has said that if people are careless, the number of people testing positive for Covid-19 may increase again.

Vice President Faisal said this in a meeting with the representatives of the medias taking initiative for the campaign, “I will stop Covid”. This meeting was held at Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) in Dharubaaruge today. VP Faisal also highlighted the importance of the work done by medias for this campaign and he also thanked them for keeping the public updated on a regular basis about the guidelines and instructions from HPA and health professionals as well as the work done by media to create awareness in the community.

He further added that the number of people testing positive for Covid-19 each day are decreasing and highlighted the important role played by the media to make this possible. VP Faisal then reminded the participants of this meeting that even though the numbers are currently decreasing, carelessness could lead to  an increase in the numbers again and that everyone must play their role to prevent this from happening.

Speaking at the meeting, chairperson of the steering committee for this campaign acknowledged the close attention from the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Vice President Faisal Naseem for this campaign. He also thanked the government for their support and cooperation to make this campaign a success.
