Addu City Council announces procedure for foreigners to obtain driving license

Addu City, Maldives – Addu City Council has announced the procedures for foreigners living in the city to obtain driving license.

City Council had announced that driving license would be given to those who fulfill the criteria stated in the Maldives Transport Authority regulation number 04/2009 (Driving License Issuance Regulation for Land Transport). The driving license would be given to those who successfully complete the theory and practical exams carried out.

Addu City Council also stated that foreigners living in Addu City those who want to get their license or add categories to the existing license can apply the forms to the transport section of the council from November 1 onward.

Those who apply are required to submit the filled out LL1 form, original and a photocopy of their work permit (minimum 3 months before due should be there) and the original and photocopy of their passport. For those who want to apply for category addition need to submit a copy of their existing license in addition to the previous documents.
