Malé, Maldives — Additional three people have been arrested for the attempted mugging of MVR 4.2 Million that was being sent to the Bank of Ceylon (BOC) from Roots Shop.
Maldives Police Service revealed that the three people who were arrested in connection to the attempted robbery are local men of the ages 20, 21 and 30.
When the three suspects were taken to the court for their remand hearings, all three were ordered to be held in remand for a period of 15 days, in a place determined by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Other than these three suspects, the police had previously also arrested four local men between the ages 20-30, who were suspected of being involved in the attempted robbery. They have been remanded for a duration of fifteen days to investigate the matter as well.
On October 25, four men attempted to rob MVR 4.2 million that was being taken to the Bank of Ceylon (BOC) from Roots Shop. However, due to the bravery of a lady and a security guard, the intruders could not get away with the money.
