Male’, Maldives – The statistics revealed from the High Court of Maldives shows that until November, the court has 792 unfinished cases pending to be attended by a judge.
According to the latest statistics revealed by the High Court, by the end of November, 297 cases have been submitted to the court and 95 of these cases were submitted during the break High Court had to take due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
While the country had 884 unattended cases at the start of this year, the number has decreased by only 92 cases to 792 by the end of November.
As the number of pending cases are still high, although the court is currently in its annual recess period, it is still continuing with the hearings in hopes of decreasing the number of unattended cases before the year 2020 ends.
Each year, the High Court and Supreme Court of Maldives are offered a recess time period from the start of December until the next year beginning.
