Male’, Maldives – Coach of Male’ based football club Maziya Sports and Recreation Club Mohamed Nizaam (Nizambe) has reportedly resigned following a disappointing performance by the team.
A social media post by Nizambe states that after a draw without scoring against Club Valencia last night in the Dhivehi Premier League, he has decided to resign from his position as head coach.
Nizambe added that he appreciates the efforts and friendliness by Mazia management and players these past few months, and wished them success in the future.
Mazia management has confirmed that they have accepted Nizambe’s resignation.
While Mazia did draw in their last match, they are still at the top of the Dhivehi Premier League leaderboard with 7 points achieved through 2 wins and 1 draw. They did however, lost to Club Eagles 3-2 in a charity shield match held to open the season.
