Addu City, Maldives — For the first time in five years, the Gan International Airport in the southernmost atoll of Maldives has achieved a new record by having 35 private jets in the airport at once.
The previous record was of 26 private jets in the airport in the year 2015, however, in an unexpected time period, the Gan International Airport has announced a new record by having 35 private jets in the airport at once and are hoping to have more private jets within the the holiday season.
The Public Relation Executive of Addu International Airport, Misbaah Nazeer informed that starting from December till January 15th, they are expecting to receive about 100 private jets in the Gan Airport.
This will be a recorded amount in the history of Gan Airport.
Misbaah stated.
Misbaah also informed that among the private jets currently in Gan Airport, some of the jets are just there for the purpose of parking after dropping of their passengers at the Velana International Airport in capital Male’ area.
The company noted if the biggest two resorts in Addu City, Canareef Resort Maldives and Shangri la Villingili resorts were’nt closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, then the airport would have received further more private jets than it had foreseen in this year.
Unfortunately, Addu doesn’t have luxurious beds for the tourists who arrive from jets anymore. This is a huge loss.
Misbaah stated.
Misbaah highlighted that the crew members that arrive from these jets receive quality services from the Equator Village and South Palm Resort in Addu City.
The private jets that have landed in Addu Gan Airport include of small jets and big jets of A320 as well. These jets normally remain in the Gan Airport for about four to seven days during the holiday period.
