Addu City, Maldives — Former MP and MDP candidate for Addu City mayor for the upcoming local council elections, Ali Nizar has said that the opposition might even promise to change the runway in Gan International Airport to a running track.

The statement from Nizar comes after Mohamed Latheef, who is competing on behalf of PPM to be the mayor of Addu City stated that if he is elected, he will change the Police Academy currently building in Addu City into a hotel.

Nizar tweeted regarding this and stated that the Opposition might even say that they will change the airport runway into a running track as an attempt to win the elections.

In his tweet, Nizar mentioned that the Addu Citizens can see what the PPM government had done to the Equatorial Convention Centre (ECC), City Square, Dhondheena Monument and the roads of Maradhoo and Feydhoo during Yameen Abdul Gayooms presidency. Nizar stated that it is a destructive ideology.

The famous Dhondheena Monument at the entrance of Gan Airport was taken and thrown away during Yameen’s Presidency. Along with this, the roads of Maradhoo and Feydhoo were also dug and damaged to a great extend.
