Malé, Maldives — A fire has broken out in the Phase 2, 7000 flat area of Hulhumalé at an expat residence.
The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) revealed that the fire broke out in the accommodation block inhabited by expats who work in the area.
The fire that started at 11AM this morning was extinguished by MNDF around 1140AM. No information has yet been revealed on the cause of the fire, any casualties or injuries due to the incident.
The 7000 housing unit project was started off during President Abdullah Yameen’s Presidency, with the completion of the building infrastructure. However, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih continued the project by installing the water supply and other necessities.
