Malé, Maldives – Indira Gandi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has informed that 3 people are hospitalised after the violent attacks in Malé last night with one is in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The Media Official of IGMH reports that of the 3 injured, one person is in ICU, the second person is being treated in the surgical ward and the third has been shifted to a private room.
A total of 4 violent crimes occurred in Malé last night.
The first incident was a Maldivian man stabbed in the neck in Asaree Hingun in Malé. The victim was taken to IGMH, and the injury is seen to be a minor one.
The second incident fight involved a sharp object and happened at near the Sinamalé bridge in Malé, and the police gave confirmation on this news.
The third was a violent gang fight between two parties which happened around 1126hrs near the Vilimalé ferry terminal. Three were injured in this fight, with 2 being taken to IGMH and 1 to ADK hospital. 5 were arrested due to this incident, 3 being underage juveniles.
The fourth incident resulted in head injuries for one man and was treated at IGMH. Police have towed motorcycles suspected to belong to the perpetrators.
