BREAKING: Covid-19 patient at GA. Villingili facility passes away

GA. Villingili, Maldives – A Covid-19 patient, receiving care at the treatment facility of GA. Villingili has passed away from the infection.

Local media, ‘Sun’ has quoted the Villingili Hospital Manager, who confirmed that the deceased 77 year old local male was brought to the island on the 13th of January, and that the patient had been bed ridden for a significantly long time after suffering a stroke.

It was further revealed that the individual was on the support of a ventilator at the time of being brought to the facility, and that there was significant damage to the lungs even then.

This is the first Covid-19 death out of the capital, Malé, and the 56th Covid-19 related death in the country.
