Malé, Maldives – Local NGO working towards saving the waves and natural resources of the country, Save our Waves Maldives, along with its international parters, has met with the Ministry of Tourism to discuss areas of collaboration in achieving the goal.

In a tweet sent out by the organization, it was highlighted that the online meeting was attended by the Minsiter of Tourism Dr. Abdullah Mausoom himself, along with the international movement Save The Waves, Patagonia Europe and CalMajor.

Speaking to The Times of Addu, representative of Save our Waves Maldives, Shaaziya Saeed (Aloha Saazu) revealed that the meeting mainly focused on discussing areas of collaboration in ensuring that the development of Kuda Villingili in North Malé atoll is carried out in the most environmentally sustainable ways.

Chickens is a roping, high-performance left located on the southern tip of Kuda Villingili Island in the Maldives, which got affected by backwash from a sea wall constructed at the end of the wave. Since then protests to save the surf in the area started, with organizations such as Save the Waves working on the cause.
