Malé, Maldives – Vice President of the Maldives, Faisal Naseem has met with Speaker of Parliament and Former President, Mohamed Nasheed to discuss about the upcoming local council elections.
While neither of them had revealed any specifics of the discussion, Speaker Nasheed had tweeted stating that VP Faisal who is from Jumhoory Party (JP) was with MDP and that it was an overwhelming proof that the VP had the country’s best interests at heart.
Following Speaker Nasheed’s tweet, VP Faisal also tweeted stating that local council campaign would be carried out in a nationalistic and safe manner through which a brighter future will be set.
VP Faisal’s meeting with Speaker Nasheed comes while tension between MDP and JP has been seen amid the no-confidence vote taken against Maleeh Jamal who served as the Minister of Communication, Science and Technology up until March 01, 2021 in a JP slot in parliament.
