Kaafu Atoll, Maldives —K. Huraa has been placed under monitoring status after an individual taken from K. Huraa to Male’ city tests positive for Covid-19.
The Council of Huraa detailed the situation and stated that a 72-year-old individual was taken to Male’ city from Huraa as his health condition deteriorated. The elderly patient was found positive for Covid-19 after the IGMH hospital took a sample of the elderly patient to test for the virus.
The Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) had earlier noted that for the first time, the number of active Covid-19 cases has increased by 270 in the atolls of Maldives since the virus outbreak took place in Maldives.
At present, there are over 207 active Covid-19 cases among the atolls of Maldives and that eight islands are under monitoring status due to the active cases.
