Malé, Maldives – Maldives Police Service has revealed that four individuals have been arrested in the Malé area with large quantities of liquor in their possession.
In a statement made to the press by Police, it was said that the four were arrested during an operation carried out by the Drug Enforcement Department of Maldives Police Service, and that the liquor was discovered during the search of a ferry.
Among the arrested are three foreigners and one local, it has since been revealed.
While the matter is being further investigated by authorities, no details have been made public regarding the case, including the identities of those arrested, nor the exact amount of alcohol that was seized.
