Lh. Atoll, Maldives – The Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services (MoGFSS) started distributing care packages to vulnerable families in Lh. Naifaru, currently under monitoring.
The Gender Ministry tweeted this information earlier today with pictures of basic supplies that were sent to Naifaru. The Ministry has sent care packages to islands placed to monitoring status.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) implemented monitoring measures in the island following the confirmation of a Covid-19 infection. As per protocol, all unauthorized access to the island and departure from the island has been prohibited. Any violations of HPA guidelines or request may carry large fines.
Lh. Naifaru was initially placed under monitoring on 23 March 2021 after one employee of the hospital who travelled to R. Ungoofaaru tested positive for Covid-19. Lhaviyani Atoll hospital located in Lh. Naifaru was shut down for contact tracing due to this as well. Lh. Naifaru was then given a seven day curfew on March 31, after 72 Covid-19 cases were confirmed from the island.
