Business tycoon Loajehi Ahmed Maniku passes away

Male’, Maldives —Famous business tycoon, (Loajehi) Ahmed Maniku has passed away today at the age of 80.

Family of Ahmed Maniku informed local media outlets that he passed away at India while receiving treatment at the Bangalore Manipal Hospital.

Over decades ago, Ahmed Maniku was one among the first who sold one of the most famous cold drinks of Maldives “Don Don”. For this, he was awarded a National Awards of Honor and National Awards of Recognition on 2009 by the then President, Mohamed Nasheed for his contribution to national productivity in the area of small and medium enterprises.

Ahmed Maniku went on to launch “Three Choice” into the market in the year 1982 with his own formula, and immediately caught the attention of the entire country.

Apart from the business sector, Ahmed Maniku had also spent a long time working at the Victory Sports Club, founded on July 3rd, 1971 and has since then won a total of 21 National Championships.
