Maldives – The Maldives Police has arrested a juvenile, under 18 years, in a drug bust operation at Lh. Hinnavaru.
The drug operation was carried out in Hinnavaru on 21 April 2021, after the police intelligence received information that a boat from Malé would smuggle drugs to Hinnavaru. In the operation, a minor was arrested in the dockyard. He was found carrying a plastic bag in which four packets of suspected to be drugs were found.
The drug operation took place in GDh. Gadhdhoo on the 20th of this month, after police received intelligence that a boat from Malé tried to smuggle drugs into neighboring Vaadhoo and would try to import drugs into Gadhdhoo. The police searched the boat the moment it arrived in Gadhdhoo and found a large package full of suspected drugs. No one has been arrested in this case.
Police are still investigating these two cases.
