Addu City placed under monitoring

Addu City, Maldives – Health protection Agency has put Addu City under monitoring status until further notice. 

According to the information received by ‘The Times of Addu’, the individual was found to be positive after consulting the Hithadhoo flu clinic in Addu Equatorial Hospital and has several contacts including high risk category people. 

This case comes while several individuals from Meedhoo island of the city had tested positive after a cluster from a boat traveling between Addu City and Malé City was identified on April 29, 2021. 

While no details of these cases having any links have been received, it is expected that Addu City will be put under monitoring status again following todays case as the individual has several contacts within the joined islands of the city.

As per the announcement, all travel to and from the city has been banned until further notice. Any essential travel, must also be authorized in writing by the Social Support Desk (SSD) of Addu.
