Covid-19: No new case recorded in Fuvahmulah over past 24hrs

Fuvahmulah, Maldives — Fuvahmulah Emergency Operations Center (FEOC) has revealed that no new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the city over the past 24 hours.

According to FEOC, no positive case was confirmed yesterday while a total of 7 people completely recovered from the virus. FEOC stated that this is the first time no daily cases were confirmed since the first Covid-19 case in Fuvahmulah was confirmed on May 21.

However, FEOC noted that as an individual in isolation was symptomatic for the virus, their sample was sent for testing yesterday.

Currently, there are 58 active Covid-19 cases in Fuvahmulah city, out of which 6 individuals are foreigners and the remaining 52 are Maldivians.

In the neighboring Addu City, six cases were recorded yesterday, with three were from the Hithadhoo district and three from Maradhoo district. Five of them were locals and one was a foreigner.

According to the latest statistics, the total number of positive cases recorded in Addu City reached 464, out of which 129 cases remain active. Contact tracing efforts have identified, 352 direct contacts related to the positive cases so far.
