F.Nilandhoo, Maldives – A 25 year old from F. Nilandhoo has passed away after giving birth while being treated for Covid-19.
The 25 year old is Siyama Ahmed. She was brought to Malé due to her deteriorating situation and the baby was prematurely delivered at 8 months on May 29.
Her condition further deteriorated after this and passed away during the treatment for Covid-19. This is one of the youngest Covid-19 deaths in Maldives.
Maldives reported another Covid-19 death this morning. An 84-year-old Maldivian female admitted at HMF passed away today at 09:55 am (12/06/21). This was the 193rd Covid-19 death in Maldives.
Maldives recorded 295 new cases of Covid-19 yesterday with 138 of them being from Malé and 146 from inhabited islands along with 11 new cases from operational resorts.
Maldives is currently going through the worst wave of Covid-19 to have hit the country since the pandemic started. Although the daily cases are gradually decreasing, health officials advise the public to remain at home and abide by preventive guidelines to minimize the spread of the disease.
