MPL hands over public transportation services to MTCC

Malé, Maldives – Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) on Thursday, signed an agreement to hand over the public transportation services managed by the company to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

While CEO of MPL Shahid Ali signed the agreement in behalf of MPL, CEO of MTCC Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of MTCC at a ceremony held on Thursday afternoon.

As per the agreement MPL will continue to manage bus services in association with MTCC for two additional months, after which MTCC will take complete control over the transportation system.

MTCC is to manage the bus transportation system in Greater Malé Region, L. Atoll, Fuvahmulah City az well as Addu City.

MTCC said that as the country’s biggest public transport network, their objective is to provide safe, affordable and convenient land and sea transportation services to the public.
