Severe rainfall expected for four days: MET

Malé, Maldives –  The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) informs that the country is expected to face severe rainfall during the upcoming four days.

MET informed that the Southwest moon is expected to become strong over the Maldives area from Wednesday onwards. Hence, widespread rain, occasionally heavy showers, strong winds, and rough seas are to be expected for the upcoming four days.

As strong wind speed between 15-25 miles per hour has been forecasted, MET warned seafarers to be cautious while venturing into the seas due to the rough seas and advised them to take all necessary safety precautions when out at sea.

Apart from this, MET stated that some islands may experiences wave swells during high tides within this period as well.
