Bad weather expected for next 24 hours: MET

Malé, Maldives – Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) informs that the country is expected to face severe rainfall and bad weather on the next 24 hours.

MET office announced a yellow alert for 15 Atolls this morning. This includes atolls from HA. Atoll toT. Atoll.

Assistant Meteorologist Hussain Waheed said giving information to local media Mihaaru, that terrible weather with strong winds is expected this weekend. He said that the storm will mainly effect northern and central Maldives.

He added that widespread rain, strong winds, and rough seas are to be expected for the next 24 hours, advising sea travellers to exercise caution and go on absolute necessary trips only.

As strong wind with speed up to 50 miles per hour has been forecasted, MET warned seafarers to be cautious while venturing into the seas due to the rough seas and advised them to take all necessary safety precautions when out at sea.
