Resort Life Maldives revealed plans to charter flights between Gan International Airport and Russia.

The flights will facilitate bringing tourists from Russia to the resorts and other tourist establishments directly to the southern region of Maldives.

Speaking to local media, the Managing Director of Resort Life Maldives Mohamed Shaaz Waleed stated that they are working to obtain the necessary approvals from the Civil Aviation Authority to kick start the charter flights.

Shaaz predicted to start the operation by September or October.

Additionally, he said that with this project they aim to further enhance tourism in the southern atolls. He noted that as there are so many products that would appeal to visitors in the region, they aim to develop Addu and Huvadhoo Atolls as a destination for tourists within Maldives.

Resort Life Maldives is one of the leading travel and tour operators in Maldives contributing to the country’s tourism sector since 2006.
