COVID-19: Active cases jump to 320 in Addu City

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) reveals that Addu City the total active cases in Addu is at 320.

The statistics released by AEH shows that with the additional 21 cases confirmed yesterday, the total number of active cases in Addu City has risen to 320.

At present, the most number of active cases are in Maradhoo with 134 cases, followed by Hithadhoo with 105 active Covid-19 cases and Feydhoo with 28 cases, while Maradhoofeydhoo has 10 cases.

The remaining two islands in Addu City, Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo was brought into monitoring status on September 4th after Covid-19 cases started to rise in the islands. AEH informs that there are 33 active cases in Meedhoo and 10 active cases in Hulhudhoo as of this Sunday.

Additionally, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) reveals that 103 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the Maldives. It was detailed that out of the 165 cases, 35 were from the Malé area, while 56 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also revealed that 9 new cases were found from operational resorts, adding upto 2,102 active cases in the country.

With this Maldives continues the trend of higher percentage of cases recorded in the islands.With this, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Maldives has reached 82,578 out of which 80,236 patients have made full recoveries, as of September 10 , 2021.
