COVID-19: Addu City reports 26 recoveries, 1 death in the past 24hrs

Addu City, Maldives – AEH informs that at 1:31 today, a 87-year-old covid positive Maldivian Male in Addu Covid-19 Management Facility has passed away.

This is the 5th COVID-19 death in Addu City.

AEH also reports that 26 patients made recoveries from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

The statistics released by AEH shows that Addu City recorded 20 new cases yesterday. With the additional cases, the total number of active cases in Addu City is now 216. Two are hospitalized in Addu City.

At present, the highest number of active cases are in Hithadhoo with 112 cases, followed by Feydhoo with 60 active Covid-19 cases, Maradhoofeydhoo has 26 cases, while Maradhoo has 16 cases. Meedhoo holds steady with 2 cases while there are no active cases in Gan and Hulhudhoo.

The joint islands of Addu City, Hithadhoo, Feydhoo, Maradhoo and Maradhoo Feydhoo, were placed under monitoring by Health Protection Agency (HPA) on 28 August with curfew imposed on the 29th amid an increasing number of Covid-19 cases.
