“Maama Kaafa Park” dedicated to senior citizens open in Addu City Feydhoo

Addu City, Maldives – “Maama Kaafa Park” dedicated to senior citizens opened in Addu City’s Feydhoo district today.

The park was established by Southern Community Empowerment Association of the Maldives (SCHEME) and developed under the Bank of Maldives (BML) Aharenge Bank Community Fund.

This is the first park of its kind developed under the BML community fund. The project was first awarded in June 2020 with the physical implementation starting in 2021.

This natural space aims to promote healthy lifestyles and wellbeing of senior citizens while encouraging them to engage in social activities in the community.

The park is equipped with exercise equipment and socializing areas for the senior citizens.

Maama Kaafa Park was inaugurated by senior citizens Maryam Shakeeba and Hussain. Feydhoo councillors Mohamed Faisal and Aminath Salma attended the opening event along with Deputy Mayor Mohamed Shuau.

Under the Aharenge Bank Community Fund, BML selects and allocates MVR 50,000 to
projects in the areas of education, environment, sports and community development. Sixty projects across the Maldives have been funded by this initiative.
