Maldives records 292nd Covid-19 death

Malé, Maldives – The Covid-19 death toll has jumped to 292 with the passing of an 80-year-old Maldivian in the capital.

The elderly man admitted at the Hulhumalé Covid management facility passed away at 00:15 today.

Another Covid-19 death was reported yesterday from the Addu Equatorial Hospital with the passing also of a Maldivian woman aged 90 at 08:50.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has reported 844 new cases as of Sunday. Of which 104 were from the Malé area, while 670 cases were recorded from inhabited islands. The figures also revealed that 38 new cases were found from operational resorts, adding up to 15,035 active cases in the country.
