Malé, Maldives – For the first time in Maldives, local students have completed a Junior Astronaut Programme in the country.
The programme dubbed “Canadian Space Agency Junior Astronaut Programm”, organised by Institute for Global Success (IGS) was held in Malé and Kulhudhuffushi City of Haa Dhaalu Atoll with a total of 32 participants.
The programme detailed fitness management, diet management, space science and technology and team work as astronauts in space.
The closing ceremony of the event was held on 4th March at STELCO’s event hall.
IGS stated that the organisation would provide opportunities to the participants of this programme to partake in NASA trainings.
IGS is currently the only organisation working towards promoting space science in the Maldives. Apart from this training programme, the institute has also started working on its first prototype satellite.
