Malé, Maldives – Two additional individuals have been arrested in connection to the latest drug bust in Maldives which saw the seize of 12 kilograms of drugs.
The first suspect, an Indian national, male aged 37, was arrested on Wednesday night via a sea raid carried out by collaborative efforts of the intelligence and drug enforcement departments of Maldives Police Service.
It was revealed by Police that this initial suspect was investigated twice previously by the Maldivian Police, also for drug-related crimes.
Now, recent information has come to light that authorities have arrested two additional suspects in connection to the crime – a Maldivian male and Bangladeshi male.
The Criminal Court has ordered a remand of 10 days for the Maldivian national and a 15 day remand for the Bangladeshi national.
Maldives Police Service is investigating the case further.
