Immigration eases passport application process for Umrah pilgrims

Malé, Maldives – The Maldives Immigration Department on Thursday announced special arrangements for passport applications to perform Umrah pilgrimage.

In their statement, Immigration stated that there is a high demand for passports for Umrah pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia and the passport application process has been eased to cater to this.

Special arrangements have been made for Maldivians starting 17 March 2022 till the end of Ramadan with a special phone line allocated for Umrah pilgrims.

Pilgrims may call 9199165 for further information.

Applicants must submit a filled application form, colour copies of national identity card, passport size digital photos, colour copies of previous passport and a document indicating the intended Umrah trip.

In addition to the Maldives Immigration, Health Protection Agency is also preparing for Umrah pilgrims by advising travellers to get boosted ahead of the trip.
